Game Overview
Viva-Media, the supreme children's software distributor, announces their
newest, super game
for those interested in sports racing simulations. GTR FIA GT Racing
Game is a new twist for Viva-Media, more known in the past for their
wonderful children's edutainment titles. Now, with this exciting new game,
Viva-Media strengthens their commitment to the larger market of teens and
adults who want to experience the excitement of high-speed sports racing.
GTR is an extremely realistic racing simulation game, a game that competes
with the many well known video game console auto racing games. Experience
the original FIA GT Championship first-hand on your PC as you pit your
skills against over 70 different opponents on all 10 legendary race
courses, such as Magny-Cours, Barcelona, and Monza. Developed by racing
professionals, GTR is one of the most realistic racing experiences you
will ever see on the PC.
With this new venture, Viva-Media also moves into the rapidly emerging
software market that is demanding higher end hardware. Be sure you are
aware of the system requirements of this super game, and remember that due
to its intense action and detailed display, you will need to run this game
on a machine that meets at least the game's minimum system requirements.
In the many other marvelous Viva-Media edutainment, learning games for
children, parents could for the most part trust that these games would run
on relatively older machines. With this game, Viva-Media is ratcheting up
the hardware requirements. However, if you do have the hardware that
supports this game, you will not be disappointed in the awesome gameplay.

Racing Tracks
Monza 3.585 Miles / 5.770 km
Set in a park, 10 miles north of the city of Milan, Monza is Europe's
oldest permanent circuit still in use. It is 3.585 Miles / 5.770 km in
length and even though chicanes now infiltrate on three fast sections, the
sweeping corners and long straights make this still the fastest circuit on
the Formula 1 and GT Championship calendar.
Autodromo Do Estoril 2.599 Miles / 4.183 km
Situated on the Atlantic coast of Portugal, 28 km from capital city
Lisbon, Estoril combines long, constant radius corners with heavy braking
zones, bumpy straights and a difficult chicane which was added to the back
section in 1994. With a track lay-out very similar to its Iberian
counterpart at Barcelona, the track is hard on the tyres and with long
sweeping turns the circuit can be tiring for the drivers.
Circuit de Nevers Magny Cours 2.741 Miles / 4.411 km
The Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, located 160 miles (250 km) from Paris in
south-east France. It is a blend of slow corners and high-speed sections,
including a very fast dash to the first-gear Adelaide hairpin bend.
Anderstorp 2.505 Miles / 4.031 km
The circuit has as its main features a very long and wide straight,
followed by a series of very sharp, level bends, interspersed with some
daunting 180° banked turns.
Circuit De Catalunya 2.938 Miles / 4.728 km
The Circuit de Catalunya is located close to Barcelona, Spain. The Circuit
was opened in 1991 and has three different circuit layouts, FIA GT
Championshipraces are held on the Grand Prix Circuit. It consists of
medium speed straights and a mixed selection of slow, medium and high
speed turns.
Motopark Oschersleben 2.279 Miles / 3.668 km
Fairly flat contours create a smooth and fast circuit, but with two key
corners to master for a really fast lap. Not a circuit to relax on - hard
work to drive consistently fast.
Ente Autodromo Pergusa 3.076 Miles / 4.950 km
Located in Sicily, Italy, the old, almost oval track is now featuring a
number of very challenging chicanes.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 4.312 Miles / 6.939 km
Spa holds an almost unique ethereal quality amongst race fans, drivers and
pundits alike, and the praise is not undeserved. The longest track in
current use, Spa makes use of public road that cuts through the lush
surroundings of the Ardennes forest. It features the most challenging
corner of any grand prix circuit, Eau Rouge. All drivers attempt to take
this flat in qualifying but it is very tricky. The track combines long
straights with a challenging mix of fast turns and chicanes.
Automotodrom Brno 3.348 Miles / 5.388 km
Popular with both fans and drivers, the new circuit is built in a natural
bowl which is banked in places to offer spectators an excellent view. Brno
constantly changes in elevation as it sweeps across forested hillsides and
its fast undulating corners test rider talent and engineering to the
limit.
Donington Park 2.498 Miles / 4.020 km
Located in beautiful countryside near to the village of Castle Donington.
Its flowing layout is broken up by a slow section of tight corners meaning
a combination of smooth racing and good corner speed must be combined with
last-gasp braking and hard acceleration.
Game Modes
The game has three game modes.
Arcade Mode
Arcade mode presents an over-the-top adrenaline-filled racing experience
which boasts insane speeds and easy to drive cars. This is great for
beginners and anyone wanting a fun pick up an play driving game.
Semi-Pro
This mode features realistic racing behaviors, with a more generous and
forgiving car control, than with Simulation mode. Semi-pro mode allows you
to improve lap times with superior driving skill and custom car set-up.
Simulation
Simulation mode provides an authentic racing experience in every aspect.
The cars and circuits behave exactly as they would if you were actually
racing. Players new to Sims can start learning the basics of real-world
race car driving with the default pre-sets for the car and driving aids
enabled. Intermediate and advanced players can disable the driving aids
and make custom changes to the car set-up for the most realistic simulated
racing experience available.
Multiplayer and Online
GTR features the ability to race against your friends and other GTR
drivers, either over a LAN, or the Internet, using the TCP/IP protocol.
