PaperPort Professional 10 is a fully developed paper management program for use at home and in business to help users integrate paper management, photo editing, forms fill-in, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). The program enables users to organize, use and retrieve scanned paper and photos, as well as electronic files like word processing documents, digital camera photos, spreadsheet files, and web pages.

You can scan in existing paper documents or photographs, and then quickly edit these and email them to friends. The program will let you keep electronic copies of everything paper, and even make a screen saver out of other images. With PaperPort Professional 10 you could take a paper copy of a contract, scan it in and have the built-in optical character recognition (OCR) component of the program create a word processing file you can edit.

For folks still dependent on a bulk of paper documents, this program and a scanner will allow you to simplify the time-consuming process of sorting through filing cabinets, retyping forms, and searching for documents on a hard drive. Also, with the new URL Bookmark Express feature, you can more quickly find favorite web sites, even if you are not at your home computer.

Install and Setup

Installation went smoothly on my machine, but be sure you have the minimum system requirements for this program. As with any program, the faster the processor and the more RAM the better this and any program will operate.
