Advanced map customization and printing
Nationwide campground information
GPS compatibility
$50 of FREE Satellite/Aerial Imagery

Topo USA 5.0 gives you five maps in one –
a topographic map

a 3-D shaded relief map
a trail map
a road map

AND Topo USA 5.0 lets you route automatically for all of them!

Look at All You Can Do

Type in the name of your favorite hiking, biking, fishing, or hunting location (or better yet one that you’ve been meaning to explore) – click -- you’re there in seconds

Gain a quick lay of the land with depth perspective of contour intervals and shaded relief. Immediately you’ll see the best place to go. One click sets a start, one click the finish and just like that you have an automatically generated route by trails, roads, or straight across open ground. A complete GPS waypoint track of your route is created and ready to upload to your GPS receiver.

Click again and see an elevation profile of your route that cross-references your position along the route. Zoom in closer on the map, through dozens of levels of detail, until you’re practically standing on the trail.

Press the 3-D tab and see terrain so realistically you’ll feel like you’re there!

Circle like a hawk over the trail you’ve created. Adjust the pitch to see the terrain from every angle.

Finally, print your 2-D and 3-D maps with route profiles, your MapNotes, and Draw Objects choosing a map scale that provides the detail you want.

See Exactly What You’ll Find When You Reach Your Destination

DeLorme Aerial Data Packets -- $50 of FREE DOWNLOADS included with the program. Plus - Every order includes a BONUS CD of Aerial Data Packets selected by DeLorme.

Things can change quickly in this world. Last trip’s wilderness may now be a mountainside resort or a new subdivision. Now, you can supplement your detailed Topo USA 5.0 maps with aerial images – the types of imagery even professionals have difficulty accessing.

DeLorme Aerial Data Packets (ADPs) include recent 10-meter satellite images, up-to-date aerial photos (DOQQs) plus USGS 7.5-minute topo maps – all delivered in one convenient download packet.

With DeLorme ADPs, you’ll see what awaits you:

Residential, agricultural, or commercial development
Land cover, forest density, clear-cuts
Radio towers, cemeteries, landing strips, buildings
Any roads or trails not included in the map data

Using the split-screen option, you can add any new detail you discover on the imagery to the maps. Simply trace or mark the new feature’s location and it will automatically be drawn on the map, in a positionally accurate manner.

With your purchase of Topo USA 5.0, you’re entitled to download $50 worth of ADPs absolutely FREE. At over 12,000 acres, that’s a lot of destinations! Additional ADPs are available for just $1 per square kilometer, minimum order $25. Use Topo 5.0's NetLink tab to download your ADPs from the DeLorme 4-terabyte image server.

Uses of Totp USA

The DeLorme Topo Software Advantage Topo USA 5.0 combines the best features of detailed topographic maps with road-routing software so you have a versatile mapping solution. Unlike topographic software products than simply scan existing paper maps, Topo USA 5.0 provides USGS topographic and elevation digital source data, supplemented with the DeLorme updated street and road network.

This means you get all the benefits of topographic maps plus the advantages of having current streets and roads, automatic routing on trails and roads, and much more.

Sounds Great! But What Will I do With This? Have you ever paid for someone to make a trip packet for you? Never again because now you’ll make them for yourself as never before possible.

Want to go canoeing this weekend but you’re tired of the usual spots? Create driveway-to-launch-site-to-campsite directions in minutes and print them in the format and scale you find most useful.

Have a lot of guests at the vacation home? Print out a large mural map using just an everyday printer showing the trails around your home for their convenience and you can add your secret trail to the map!

Planning a long bike trip and want to get a sense of what awaits you? Create automatic road and trail routes, adjust them in advance taking into account elevation changes, plan stops and see total miles covered.

Don’t know the best way to get to that fishing spot your friend told you about? Set that spot as the finish and your home as the start and let us tell you how to get there.

Topo USA 5.0 offers automatic routing by road, trail, or across unmarked land. There Four easy ways to create your own routes:

Select a road, trail, trail segment, or any line on the map and turn it into a route using the handy right-click functions

Place start and finish points on the map for automatic routing by roads, trails, or straight point-to-point travel

Draw in your own road, trail, or line and click once to make the exact route you want

Upload your collected GPS waypoints and see them displayed as a route

Once you’ve created the route you want you can still do a lot more. Add text, lines, roads, trails, and symbols to your map. Add your own text notes anywhere on the map or click to add automatic notes listing specific latitude/longitude or place names. Write notes directly on the map utilizing all your computer fonts, as well as many varied styles, colors, and sizes of text.

Draw freehand lines to show new roads, trails, streams, and power lines or other linear features with distance and bearing. Your custom roads and trails become part of the routing and search engines. Use arcs, splines, and straight lines to annotate the map for your needs. Highlight sections of the map and automatically view measurements (feet, meters, acres, hectares). Measuring areas and distances is easy and you can create map notes listing these results.

Create your own map symbols and categories of symbols that are recognized by the Topo USA 5.0 search engine. Search for any saved road, trail, or draw object on the map and find them quickly when you need them. There are thousands of ways to craft maps to match your needs.

Recommendations

Land-based map lovers will covet DeLorme's Topo USA 5. This program is simply amazing. You can now actually create on your own home printer 3D maps of the topological layout of literally any place in the USA.

Armchair adventurers can fire up Topo USA and get detailed contour maps of just about every mountain peak, hill, knoll, knob, hollow and berm in America. These maps show elevations all the way down to 20-foot contours, which means hiking trails can be laid out on computer printouts. A slick side-by-side display shows both a 2-D and a 3-D view, and as the cursor moves in one, the display changes in the other.

The added dimension of the elevation profile allows you to see the steepness of the roads that lie ahead, thus helping hikers and bikers better plan their upcoming workouts.

Also, whether you're planning for a family vacation or a business trip, you can use DeLorme's Topo USA 5 to avoid just about all travel catastrophes.

About DeLorme

DeLorme is a leading provider of mapping products and technical solutions for the consumer and professional markets. Located in Yarmouth, Maine, DeLorme headquarters is home to corporate offices, a state-of-the-art research and development facility, the DeLorme Map Store, and Eartha, the world’s largest rotating globe.

Since its incorporation in 1976, DeLorme has developed an unprecedented reputation as a leader in the mapping industry. From humble beginnings as a paper atlas publisher, the company quickly emerged as a pioneering technological innovator. DeLorme not only embraced emerging technologies, it developed them.

After over a quarter century, DeLorme’s paper Atlas and Gazetteer series is still without peer. Covering all 50 states, they provide a unique topographic perspective and a level of detail unmatched in similar publications.

DeLorme’s research into alternative media and advanced technologies in the 1980’s helped define digital mapping as we know it today. Street Atlas USA was the first software product to put street-level detail for the entire country on a single CD. Over a dozen versions later, Street Atlas USA is undisputedly regarded as the consumer mapping software title against which all others are judged.

Street Atlas USA was the solid foundation upon which increasingly advanced software titles were built. Topo USA, 3-D TopoQuads, and ultimately the XMap suite of products were all released to high acclaim.

DeLorme’s attention has increasingly turned toward the professional market. Building on its reputation for providing easy-to-use, affordable mapping solutions, it quickly found a loyal following with professionals who recognized the value in a quality product.

XMap provides a versatile and powerful mapping tool with which to use DeLorme’s map data offerings such as high-resolution USGS quads, 10-meter color satellite imagery, and up-to-date street-level vector data. The modular structure of XMap offers a level of flexibility not found in more expensive alternatives. This allows for quick and easy adaptation when the need dictates.

In 2003, DeLorme announced a new state-of-the-art digital aerial imagery platform called TopoBird. The TopoBird aerial imagery data collection platform delivers high-quality color imagery for considerably less money than film-based systems. Because the data is captured digitally, time-consuming film processing is no longer needed, which means delivery times are much faster.

DeLorme has also been a leading provider of GPS solutions at a very affordable price. In tandem with the developing GPS infrastructure, DeLorme first released Tripmate and later Earthmate as a perfect companion for its software. For the ultimate in mobility, XMap Handheld Street Atlas USA Edition is a powerful tool for any Palm OS or Pocket PC user.
